...and everybody wins, except for Naomi Robson. And one half of Chas.

The Chaser ran its' last episode last night. Can has devastated? Who the hell is going to keep Today Tonight in check now?

But hopefully the boys will be returning in some other way, shape or form; apparently the 'Chaser' part of the Chaser's War On Everything**, Especially The Australian Media, Ol' Ruddy, Network Politics, And Guys At Restaurants Who Continually Ask You If You Need Pepper is intact and will be moving on to bigger, better and quite possibly more illegal and embarassing things, since apparently the five of them is nearly 'equal to one Shaun Micallef'. :) Sad, but looking forward to it. :D

*Also Anna Coren, Racists, Realistic Advertising, Unrealistic Wishes (coughcough, ahem), Oversized Popcorn, Jetstar Safety, Cannibal Corpse lyrics, John Howard's Walks, Environmental Breathing, Poo Jesus Apparitions, Anna Coren, APEC Security, People Who Say Nice Things About Stupid People When They're Dead, The Trojan Horse, Botox, Andrew Hansen's hair, Shit-boring Golf classics, Ol' Ruddy, Ol' Ruddy Ability/inability to speak Mandarin and throw hairdryers at people's heads, Anna Coren, KFC mashies, crazy crazy old-school fat salivating Doctor Who fans, Elbow Herpes, Newtown NSW, Scientology Gullibility, Networds Nine, Ten, Southern Cross, SBS, ABC, ABC2, ABC4Kids, Anna Coren, CNN, CNNNN, Foxtel & Fox, Hausfrau Hitler, Low-Slung Jeans and Roget's Thesaurus. Hmmm.... just saw the trailer for Sherlock Holmes. Certianly quite different. Not entirely sure if I'm sold on Robert Downey Jr. as the immortal, immoral detective - and I would throw myself down the stairs with a lightbulb in my mouth to see Robert Downey Jr. - but... but wait, who the hell cares, it's Robert Downey Jr. Honestly, the first thing I thought was - Oh, I can just imagine the slash fic that will come of this.
Okay, after I finished thinking oh my shirtless I thought that.

I always thought it more Mythbusters than James Bond. Holmes is a basically an uptight, skinny for lack of a better word wiry guy who likes violins and bees and Scullying things. "Nope, sorry chaps, that's wrong. You see, this, this and this make it clearly obvious" and then pull the entire dastardly scheme to bits, after having sat on the correct answer for some time previous. Hell, I used to watch the black & white ones with Basil Rathbone, who was quite, quite cool.

By the looks of things it will arrive equipped with all the suave swagger and debauchery you can point a silver-topped cane at, so I'm soldcurious by default, even if it's not how I remember the stories...

Perhaps I should pull the old tomes out and re-read a few, just to be sure.
And watch that trailer again...

Hmm. I'm just looking at this in shame - while eating a doughnut; shamefully of course - and thinking, "Tropic Thunder? That was seriously the last time I posted something? What about, say, Wolverine: Origins? Angels and Demons? That stage show of Sweeney Todd? or ...Twilight?" IT'S BEEN MONTHS. MONTHSSSSSSS

Naturally, I blame my failures on something else, of course. Real-life getting in the way, as it does; I've moved house (and about to do so again), changed jobs (twice), and had computer broken (three times; and I *still* can''t log in to my admin account). Busybusybusy.

So, dumping some icons here, to make me look slightly less neglectful. Hah.

Mmm... Chasers. Watching sooo much of The Chasers. Oh but I love political satire. Stephen Colbert and The Colbert Report, Jon Stewart's The Daily Show, Paul McDermott's Good News Week (recently revived OH YAY :D) and the glorious glorious Chaser's War on Everything. Chas is UTTERLY SHAMELESSSO BRAVE, Chris appears to badly need a hug, Jules is srs funny like a guy-that-looks-like-an-accountant-shouldn't-be, Craig is... clearly not afraid to get his clothes off at all, and Andrew is EXTREME ELITIST GENIUS OWNAGE (and sings so well)... acutally, they all like to get naked, don't they?

And it's *so* unbelievably fantastic to see someone properly taking the piss out of TT; I never believed Centrelink was evil, or that foreigners were going to kill me in my sleep, or that orange juice and sleeping with a bra on could give you cancer, or that shopping centre parking lots were the most dangerous places in the world. So to make sure, I BOUGHT SEVERAL DVDS OF THE CHASER.

Ooh, and went out Saturday night... so much fun! Except I kept putting my drink down and kept losing it :( Made the taxi driver go through McD's drivethrough afterwards, and then went home and had fun laughing at Andrew Hansen's hair :3

*dances* Looking up airfares and hotel reservations, 'cuz roommate and I considering going to Draculas for long weekend! I have wanted to go there for SO. LONG. I get so sick of people telling me how good it is... I want to go so bad! Although don't know if I'll be able to get the time off work... I'm still hopeful. And since the one person in the office I'd ask for a day off just *walked out*... I guess I'll just have to suck it up and ask the boss :(

Anyway, I've decided to try and be less paranoid about posting, and worrying less about whether people I know will read it. Wtv, it's my lj and I'll blargh if i want to.

omfg, it's ten past two. i *really* need a nap.

Quickly - just saw Tropic Thunder, then spent a nerve-wracking hour or so ferrying a bunch of high-schoolers about town. But even more scary than that was sitting in the front row while Tom Cruise shook his extremely hairy booty about onscreen; I could see his nosehairs, that's how close it was. I do not think I will be sleeping for a while. Oh god.

This movie's good, pretty funny, but OH MY GOODNESS, THE NIGHTMARES. *quivers*

Oh no woeful!

In between last posts I have:

- Moved house!
- Had a birthday! Go me... I'm still twelve. Again.
- Had two weeks holiday! OH MY, IT'S LOVELY
- Coloured my hair again
- Brought the single most ugly scarf known to mankind
- Not updated anything So lazy...
- and reading, reading, reading.
- Smexy new computer screen is saturated with Sweeney Todd, Mary Reilly, Heath Ledger's Joker and Jareth the Goblin King.
- OMG, Blu-Ray is wonderful! Horrendously overpriced... but when you've been watching things on YouTube, it's like High-Definition manna from heaven.
I found a couple of old notebooks when I was packing to move. I flicked through a few just out of idle curiosity to see what random madness I was spewing about at the time - only to find pictures of the Jareth and the Joker. And those drawings are six or seven years old; shows my madness is at least stable, if not going around in completely ignorant circles. *sigh* Least I'm not fickle, I suppose.

...also woefully missing a scanner, but been scribbling like a mad thing. Got one of His Bowieness on the go which is giving me unlimited amounts of grief... well, everything from the waist down is, anyway.
(There's a crotch joke there somewhere; I just can't find it.).

Anyway, my recording duty is done; I've eight new DVDs calling my name, and I think Grindhouse is calling the loudest. :3 But first...

SERIOUS BUSINESS:

About time I changed that layout, I think.

What-ho! A post? Do we, perchance, espy a batch of newly-pressed vocabulary from this previously arid fountain of verbal refuse?

Well, yeah, duh.  Because otherwise... duh.

I’ll just pretend there hasn’t been a severe gap inbetween posts, shall I? Months, I should think. Just like a hiatus, only without the unnecessary inconvenience of posting a ‘Hiatus’ sign. More like a ‘Big-Ass Gap’.

Summary as follows:  Computer passed out. Got credit card, work-work-worked, and got a new one, which arrived yesterday. And it is a truly euphoria-induced Beast of a tower, may I say. The time in between, sans technology, may indeed be likened to hanging out in Satan’s armpit. A veritable hell, t’was.

Sad, since with the infrequent and sporadic nature of my previous postings... there’s not a great deal of difference.

Promises, promises; I’m hot on the heels of new obsessions, attempting to have a life outside of work... as if that’s possible. And once I resurrect Photoshop, and finish this latte, I’ll be all over making up for lost time, I hope. All the stupid things I did I should have posted, the public apologies I should have made; all the haircuts and late nights and parking tickets and strong coffees. Life stuff. Like I ever post that anyway.

Bah. Feels like I haven't made anything for a while, although that's not correct at all. Unfortunately, life is cutting into my icon making time. Must remedy.

And ooh, Halloween soon. It's not really celebrated as much here, but I like the idea just the same; some neighbourhood kids are talking about really going trick-or-treating - don't know if they'll get anything more than some very confused looks - and it sounds cool.
Not to mention, it's storm weather: raining, thundering and wind howling like a banshee. Perfect for being inside with a blanket, book and a hot drink - which thankfully I am. *cackles at people outside*

Hey, why does my computer clock say 1.00am, and all the other clocks in the house say 12:00pm? :<

limited first icons will be crossposted to [info]frollophiles. If you're not a fan of arch, self-righteous priests tormented by lust, don't click. in fact, since they're a first batch and my usually trigger-happy capping finger is out of order (because I keep burning them at work), they're all pretty similar. Better next time.

K, was stalked by some random telephone-number-dispersing woman in the supermarket this evening. Mother always said the crazies come out at night, my presence further emphasising that point, but I’ve not had problems prior to now.

Well. Just call me grumpy, old and intolerant. At least two of those are true. Definitely at least grumpy.

If you saw, say, Magneto in your local supermarket, perusing the freshness of Farm-fresh eggplants in the produce aisle with his little metal hat on, would your first thought be “OOH! A FRIEND I HAVEN’T MET YET!”? I think not. I avoided her gaze for as long as I could help, but she requested help reading something, and my manners wouldn’t allow me to refuse a politely-phrased request, no matter how much I didn’t feel like talking to a woman who looked like a dead dandelion stuck on top of a ball of black doileys.

After clearly fishing about for a starting point for conversation (big hint for me of her mental state as I was clearly the last person to start talking to)

(like the earphones that I wasn’t taking out weren’t hint enough), we struck up a conversation. That is to say, I looked at the printer cartridges while she struck up a conversation. Whacked it, actually.

She commented on how much she liked my hair, at which point I discovered the true depths of her sheer and frightening madness; or perhaps she was only blind, which might go some ways to explain what she was wearing, but clearly not far enough. Then she proceeded to detail how much she loved hair

(producing unhelpful mental images of Crispin Hellion Glover and his angelhair fetish)

And playing with it

(proceeding to Jame Gumb)

and she asked me where I lived (naturally, I lied through my teeth)

and quite a few other things I don’t choose to recall in the same inane vein

(Dahmer anyone? You just don’t talk about those things in a supermarket. You just don’t.).

VERY EXPTREMELY OBSESSIVELY LONG story short, and after rummaging in her hideously large purse for a pen so she could give me her phone number*, I… went and hid in the frozen foods section for a while. Sad but true. She was quite… enthusiastic about listing her talents as a hairdresser, where she’d gone, been… done… etc.

Amusingly enough, as I was leaving, the checkout girls were discussing her too. As in, “She seems lovely…” *STRAINED AND POINTED SILENCE* Glad I wasn’t the only one. No more late shopping, no matter what sushi I want at three in the morning.

*A mobile, as for some reason.. she… didn’t have a phone? Yes, certainly I’ll come visit you. Of course I won’t tell anyone, and rohypnol sounds like a wonderful addition to tea. No, I don’t really need my liver.

Well, Ive glutted myself on internets for a while, so I'm gonna try and get back in the swing of things. Just a couple'a icons, old ones. Bones and Riddick, a few random things - it really has been a while.

...

Tease?  )

Not the usual fare, eh? On this unhealty Vin Diesel thing: He's never been my type. Not really at all. But all it took was a second viewing of The Chronicles of Riddick... (and I notice this seems to be a popular opinion, twice around
) and there was a familiar fangirly stirring... and suddenly I had Pitch Black in my hand, and I was ordering Dark Fury from some other state, with xXx, The Fast and the Furious, and The Pacifier under one arm, and A Man Apart on my video card.... must have blacked out. *hides head*
I've not found too many Jack/KyraxRiddick fics, though... if there's a rec list, I'll find it.

Hosted a baby shower on the weekend and I can't honestly thing of any event I've been to that was more stressful! Hosting is hard. I give kudos to you Ouran boys and girls :3 Not to mention I've never been to one in my life, so I had to try and guess how the games and things were supposed to go. Think it went okay. I think.

K, so now I'm gonna go see if my peach cheesecake's set yet :)

Geez, where to begin? I HAVE INTERNETS. GODS BUT I MISSED THEM. I have had them for all of... five minutes.

Anyway.

NEW HOUSE! I'm leasing.
NEW JOB! It's... gah.

NEW HARD DRIVE! It's ...roomy.

NEW... FIXATION WITH VIN DIESEL AS OF THE LAST WEEK, WHICH I REALLY DON'T WANT TO DISCUSS.

So.. when I'm done revelling in the joy of internets (which will take a while), checking my horribly horribly full mail box, and trying to update my DA... I'll post something of use.
